Virginia joined the Centre in 1991 and was part-time co-ordinator of VISAR for 8 years. She was then involved in several projects on poisoning and on vehicle related suicides, particularly exhaust gassings and rail. In 2004 she commenced a PhD monitoring the uptake of seat belt wearing in two cities in China.
